FAQs

  • Who are we?

We are a dynamic network organisation and a British registered charity, charity number 1179511. Our loyal international membership includes NGOs, faith leaders, media, philanthropic individuals, businesses, change makers, academics, change-focused influencers and entrepreneurs. Our goal is to end modern slavery, stop human trafficking, and achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8.

  • What are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)?

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015, with the aim of achieving sustainable development by 2030. These goals address various social, economic, and environmental challenges, including poverty, hunger, health, education, gender equality, clean water, economic growth, climate change, and more.

The SDGs provide a framework for countries, organizations, and individuals to work towards a more sustainable and equitable world, through concerted efforts and partnerships at local, national, and global levels. GSN works towards achievement of SDG Goal 8 and specifically on SDG Goal 8.3 (Job Creation and Enterprise Development), 8.5 (Decent Work for All) and 8.7(Ending Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking).

  • Why partner with us?

Our biggest strength is our global network. We believe we can make the most significant impact when working together. We have many examples where members have worked together to achieve extraordinary things, partnering with organisations like Interpol to rescue victims of human trafficking and find missing children through facial recognition technology, among others.

There are many benefits for institutions joining the GSN. Learn more here.

  • Can our organisation / I speak at a GSN event?

If you have institutional membership and the work that you do aligns with ours, then speaking opportunities at events would be possible, and the curation of smaller ‘roundtable’ type events could be arranged.

  • How much does institutional membership / corporate sponsorship cost?

Each corporate or institutional membership will be tailored to your needs.

  • How long does the membership term last?

A partnership with us is usually renewed annually, but partnering on specific events and projects such as a fundraising dinner, conference, or working project is possible.

  • Can we use your branding?

Yes. You will be able to use our logo and other branding collateral. We will provide you with a style guide so that it helps you to use our branding in the correct and most impactful way.

  • Can you use our branding?

Yes. There is an option for us to package a partnership that will include the use of your branding. We can look at branding on some of our social media and events, such as photo walls, lectern branding, printed programme, and advertisements. We could also explore other linkages with some of our partners and supporters.

  • Can you arrange volunteering or frontline experiences for our staff?

Yes. We offer curated volunteering opportunities globally. We offer Impact Journeys to our members, which would be extended to corporate sponsors and institutional members. Having a first-hand grassroot experience, whether to understand the complex challenges or understanding scalable solutions, can be powerful and life-changing.

  • What type of members do you have?

Our members include survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking, former politicians, heads of state, change makers, NGOs, faith leaders, academics, business leaders, CEOs, media, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and humanitarians. We have over 1000 subscribers to our news and newsletters. Our network is diverse, from all different backgrounds and geographical locations. Many members are exceptionally well-connected and have their own foundations and networks.

  • How can membership improve our ESG rating?

Most companies have committed to improving their Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) performance. Drive positive cultural change in your organisation. Philanthropic giving can be an indicator of community impact. Partnering with us or becoming a member can help with your social impact. We are a dynamic and diverse charity with international reach and global hubs worldwide so that impact can be made at the local level and scaled up to create a global impact.

  • What other institutions do you partner with?

We partner with corporates, NGOs, charities, faith leaders, and academic institutions. Due diligence will always be part of the process, as we need to be sure that our association is aligned with our values and overall mission.
